Jane H. Guglielmo passed away on January 11, 2021 surrounded by her family.  She lived her life well and was a devoted wife and a loving mother. 

Jane is predeceased by her husband Donald Guglielmo who was the love of her life for 65 years, also predeceased by her brothers Walter Oczkowski and Edward Oczkowski.  Left to cherish her memory are her children, Steven (Suzanne) Guglielmo of Burlington, CT, Donna (Robert) Patton of Lexington, KY, Diane (Timothy) Fortin of Chester Springs, PA, Kathy (Brian) Madrazo of Pittsford, NY; seven treasured grandchildren: Kate, Matthew, Michael, Sarah, Mark, Emily and Thomas.  She also leaves her siblings Gladys Handzel, Virginia Oczkowski and Joseph Oczkowski along with many nieces and nephews.

Jane was born on October 24, 1934 in Utica, NY daughter of Joseph and Stephanie Oczkowski. She is a graduate of Utica Free Academy. She was 18 years old when she met the man of her dreams, Donald Guglielmo.  After marrying Don, in 1954, she worked briefly at General Electric in Utica, NY.  While living in Utica, NY they welcomed their children Steven, Donna and Diane into their family. In 1965, the family relocated to the suburbs of Rochester, NY where Kathy was born.  She was a parishioner of Assumption of Our Lady in Fairport, NY.   She was a devoted wife and mother.

As a parishioner of Assumption of Our Lady in Fairport, NY, Jane will be remembered as a woman who loved the Lord and started each day with a grateful heart. Her faith was often demonstrated through acts of kindness, especially to those who were in need.

She was full of life, optimistic, and inquisitive, always willing to try and learn new skills. Jane loved sewing, cooking, and being outdoors. Her cooking specialties included traditional homemade Polish dishes such as pierogies, kielbasa, kapusta and kruschiki.

Janya or Janie, as she was sometimes known, filled our lives with happiness. Her family and friends are blessed to have many precious memories of her. She will be missed by all, yet she lives on in all of us.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Donald and Jane Saturday May 15, 2021 10AM at Church of the Assumption, Fairport, NY. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
