Edward B. Cobb, 63, of Fairport, NY passed away peacefully at the home he shared with Carol after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, January 3,2021.  He was predeceased by his parents       William and Barbara Cobb, brother Ted and sister-in-law (Barb) Cobb.

Ed is survived by his sons, Will (Christina) Cobb of West Irondequoit, Jake Cobb of Webster, sister Penny (Jorge) Boehringer of San Antonio, Tx. and longtime Significant Other, Carol (Moreland) Locke.   Ed also is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, coworkers, and Fantasy Football team members!

Ed was born November 26, 1957 in Fairport, New York. He graduated from FHS class 1975 and attended Muskingum University.  Ed later joined the Air Force and went on to complete 20 years of service with the National Guard of Niagara/Syracuse, N.Y. While in the National Guard he was called to serve overseas.  He felt it was a privilege to serve his country with The Men and Women of the United States Air Force and National Guard. Ed was employed by Harris Corp for 33 years as a Mechanical designer.

He was a resident of Webster, NY for a time where he lived with his then wife, AJ and raised their 2 sons. When he moved back to Fairport in 2013, he joined and was an active member of the Perinton VFW post 8495. He also reconnected with many of his high school friends.

Ed was a true sports fan, especially of Football and The Buffalo Bills!  He was also a fan of the Sabres, Boston Red Sox and Syracuse football/basketball teams. When the Bills Organization was contacted by a family member regarding Ed’s health issues, they graciously sent him a care package that he received just before Christmas. They thanked him for his many years of support.   He passed knowing his beloved Bills are in the playoffs and he will be watching them from Heaven.

Ed also enjoyed playing golf, traveling, loved music and going to concerts. Many trips have been taken to the Adirondacks with friends, to Virginia and the Florida beaches.  In February 2019 we traveled to San Antonio, Tx to visit his sister, Penny and husband Jorge. We had a wonderful time.

The Family wishes to thank the staff at Unity Hospital, RGH, Lipson Center -Linden Oaks and Lifetime Hospice staff for all the wonderful care and support they provided.

Donations may be made in Ed’s name to The Perinton Memorial VFW Post 8495, Fairport Fire Department or The Perinton Ambulance Corp.

Due to COVID-19, Services and a Celebration of Ed’s life will be held later in the year at the convenience of the family.

Ed was a great friend and coworker. A group of us traveled south to Florida with Ed many times to play golf. Those trips were the best of times. Myself, Dave, Matt, Fernando, Brian, Kevin and Jim can all attest to the fun we had with Ed. We all called him Pa. not sure where the nickname came from but it stuck. Rest In Peace Pa, We will miss you very much and your unbreakable golf tee. I’m grateful that I was able to visit him a couple of times in the past month. Those are memories I will never forget.

    1. Thomas , Ed often talked about those famous golf trips with a smile on his face. thank you Carol
