Brown, Andrew (Andy) G.

Andrew (Andy) Brown, 55 of East Rochester, NY passed at home on May 4, 2022.
Born in Clifton Springs, NY, raised in Maine and Canandaigua, NY, he was predeceased by his grandparents Grace and Bud Allen and nephew Isaac Allen.

He is survived by his parents Roberta (Bobbie) Allen, father, Andy and stepmother, Elvira Bartucca, brother Joe Brown, sister, Betsy (Ian) Wilson. Stepbrothers Tony and John Bartucca, stepsister, Mary Teresa Bartucca, son, Peter Michael Karekos, niece, Gabriella Wilson, uncle, Jim Allen, nephews Ira (Laura Noll) Allen, Saul (Beth Armstrong) Allen and Anna Allen. Also, other aunts and uncles and good friends, Brian and Molly Goodrich, Pat Fahy and Ronald Barr.

Before moving to Canandaigua, Andy attended Wells High School, was active in the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, played baseball, basketball and football and has many dear friends from his Maine school years.

A 1984 graduate of Canandaigua Academy, Andy lettered in baseball, football and basketball. He served in the US Army from 1989-1992 in Military Intelligence and later was employed as an assistant coach for FLCC baseball team as well as for the SUNY Cortland baseball team from 2000-2010.

Andy worked in the tree care business as well as doing small carpentry and painting jobs. He was a member of the East Rochester American Legion Post 1917. Andy was an avid Boston Red Sox, Buffalo Bills and SUNY Cortland baseball fan. 

Services are set for St. Felix Catholic Church in Clifton Springs on Saturday, June 18th at 11 am with burial at St. Agnes cemetery after. Donations in his memory, as he wished, may be sent to the Cortland College Foundation-Baseball designation, SUNY Cortland, Park Center, PO Box 2000, Cortland, NY 13045.

    I’m just crushed to hear this of your loss,I met Andrew at the Richards house where he was loved by all, we’ve kept contact from then via Facebook ,may God bless All that you do and I remember him being happy.

    i just heard about his passing, he was a little younger then myself when we attend WHS, he is gone too soon and will be missed by everyone who knew him.. i am so sorry for your loss..

    My nephew Andy was a sensitive and intrinsically very intelligent man. Despite the burdens he carried for many years, he was quick to be gracious and kind to others. A good man gone too soon. May he be at peace.
