Tadio, Rosalie Ann “Ro”

Fairport: On Saturday, June 17, 2017, Rosalie Tadio passed away at home surrounded by her family after a 4 year battle with cancer at the age of 68. Predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Edith Bubba and sister, Pasqualina Picardo. Ro is survived by and will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 32 years, Eric; children, Heather (Steve Howard), Kelly (Neil Baker) and Meghan; sister, Loretta Gerken; god daughter, Michelle Picardo; as well as her many precious grandchildren and other family.
Rosalie Ann Tadio (Bubba) was born on December 9, 1948 in Easton, PA. She spent her childhood in Easton and loved swimming, biking, and dancing. She suffered the loss of her mother at the age of 15. It was the nurse who cared for her mother that inspired her to become a nurse herself. At this tender age, Ro maintained the household and took care of her father and herself. Ro would attend dances at nearby clubs as national acts came through on their way to Philadelphia to be on American Bandstand. Paul Anka, The Four Seasons, The Drifters and other top acts of the era were some she recalled.
Ro started studying nursing at Temple University, close to her hometown. After one year, she moved to Rochester, NY to live with her sister Loretta and her husband Bill, where she was also united with her sister Patty. She finished nursing school and became a registered nurse through Genesee Hospital Nursing School. Rosalie and Thomas Kitchen married and had three children Chad, Heather and Kelly. Ro worked in the hospital for several years before moving to a medical office that offered her hours better suited for raising children. It was her love of children that led her to the field of pediatrics and she joined the Pittsford Pediatric family where she stayed for 35 years. She cared for many children and assisted parents in need while developing close friendships with co-workers.
Ro made sure the kids maintained a close relationship with their paternal grandparents, Dorothy (Dot) and Thomas (Pop), even after she and Tom divorced. For years, Rosalie raised the children on her own while holding down two jobs.
On December 7, 1985 she married Eric Tadio (daughters Erica and Emily) and they had a daughter, Meghan. Together, Ro and Eric raised six children. She was so dedicated to her children, and later her grandchildren.
She loved opening her home to friends and family, and seemed to have a special way of bringing everyone together. Her favorite vacations involved the beach. She felt at peace when she was at the shore, particularly Ocean City, NJ.
Ro was an amazing hostess and cook with a habit of making enough food for triple the expected guests, as any good Italian mother would. She also enjoyed reading, decorating her home, going to the movies, shopping for presents for everyone, gardening, taking walks at the park, and especially talking and connecting with her family and friends. Ro (Mimi) loved to spend time and talk about all of her grandchildren Matthew, Danielle, Jason, Skylar, Cloe, Ethan, Audrey, Elsa and Enzo. She has always felt that children are a gift to be treasured.
Over her 4 year battle with cancer, Rosalie was strong and tenacious seeking out every treatment available to make sure she could spend as much time as possible with her loved ones. Her never ending spirit, selfless nature, and warm maternal heart will live on in all she touched throughout her life.
