Mark A Puccia, 59, of Fairport NY, died at home surrounded by his wife and three daughters after battling brain cancer since 2011. Predeceased by his father, Angelo Puccia. Survived by his loving wife and best friend, Diane, and most adored daughters, Lynne, Kathryn and Laura. Also survived by his loving mother Theresa, and brothers
James (Karen), David (Susan), Michael (Margaret), John (Melissa), all of Watertown, NY; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joanne and Dudley Cate of Asheville, NC and brother-in-law Ted Swirat of Louisville KY; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, God-children, and very special friends.

Mark was a 1973 graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy High School in Watertown and graduated from St. John Fisher College in 1977. He earned his CPA and had a long career in accounting and finance at Rochester Community Savings Bank, Mengel, Metzger Barr & Co., Paychex lnc., and most recently as the CFO and VP of Finance at the Greater Rochester Health Foundation.

Mark had an incredible sense of humor, loved life, and was committed to his loving family completely. He found happiness and joy in every day and fought his devastating illness with courage and dignity.

Friends may call at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home at 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport on Friday March 28 from 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 29 at noon at St. John of Rochester Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the NeuroOncology Unit at Wilmot Cancer Center or the Palliative Care Department at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

  4. My condolences and thoughts go to the Puccia Family.

    I can;t help but remember my days at St.Anthony’s when both MArk and David looked out for and protected the younger students.

    I have to believe that now Mark is doing that same thing still in a slightly different environment.

    May Gopd reward him for all that he did and grant peace and serenity to his family.
