Place, James L. “Jim”

Caledonia: Formerly of Fairport. Jim passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 13, 1947 in Oneonta, NY. Predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Alice Place. He is survived by his devoted partner, Jean Schofield; his beloved beagle, Molly; his daughter, Christine (Donald) Jones; his grandchildren, John and Alyson Pikuritz; his sister, Ivanne (Anthony) Cassano; his brothers, Robert (Jean) Place and John (Lori) Place; many nieces and nephews. Jim easily made friends and will be remembered for his ready smile and humorous “jabs”. In his later years he truly enjoyed woodcrafting and particularly making wooden toys for children and traveling and participating in craft shows with Jean.

Family and friends are invited to a Reception celebrating Jim’s life to be held on Monday, July 3rd from 7 PM – 9 PM at White Brook Nature Area, 250 Aldrich Road, Fairport, NY 14450.
