John Loved the outdoors and spent as much time outside as possible. During the winter, he would cross-country ski, go snowshoeing, and work in his shop. John loved creating an environment that was attractive to all manner of animals. His yard is filled with handcrafted birdhouses and numerous feeders. He also spent countless hours restoring his father’s and grandfather’s antique truck and tractors. John was a fitness enthusiast. He was part of a weekly cycling group, took classes at the YMCA, participated in many charitable runs and rides, and in general was always in motion.

Most important to him was his wife, Linda, to whom he was married for 44 years. He was a devoted and doting uncle to his many nieces & nephews, all of whom loved being around him. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family.
