Matyjakowski, Roger

Fairport: Passed Monday, September 12, 2016. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Christine (Woloszyn) Matyjakowski; children, Mark (Kelly Murphy) Matyjakowski, Craig Matyjakowski and Debra (John) Catalano; grandchildren, Nicholas and Ashley Matyjakowski, Victoria, Carina and Juliana Catalano; brother, David (Linda McKay) Matyjakowski; several nieces, nephews and cousins. An avid little league and softball fan, he tried to attend all of his granddaughters’ games. Roger was an IRS agent for over 40 years, was an avid volunteer, a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years, held offices of PGK, PFN, PFLCP and FDD. He was active in Rush-Henrietta PTA and chaired Parents Advisory Board. He served on the Monroe County Fair Committee and also chaired Interfaith League Committee. Roger was a JCI Senator and was active Parish Council member of St. Joe’s in Rush and Good Shepherd, Henrietta. He was on the Finance Committees at Good Shepherd and Assumption Parish in Fairport. He and his wife, Chris chaired 50+ Senior Program and Bereavement Committee at Assumption. He was also a volunteer at Monroe Community Hospital.
