Fairport: March 12, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital where Bob waged a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer for 5 years but finally succumbed to this dreadful disease. Bob was born February 23, 1953 in Amsterdam, NY. He was the oldest child of Edward W. and Ruth F. Lipowicz of Canajoharie, NY. Bob graduated from Canajoharie High School in 1971 where he was a member of the varsity baseball team, band and was awarded a Regents Scholarship. Bob entered Mechanical Engineering Program, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY in the fall of 1971. Bob grew to love RPI especially the varsity hockey program which he supported for the remainder of his life. While at RPI, Bob was the play-by-play radio broadcaster for varsity hockey games on WRPI. He earned his B.S. from RPI in 1975 in Mechanical Engineering. He continued and received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1976. After graduate school Bob started his professional career at Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati, OH. Bob was professionally uninspired designing and building machines to make diapers. So he then joined Xerox Corporation in Rochester, NY in 1979 and worked for Xerox almost 30 years until he was forced to retiree due to illness. While at Xerox, Bob obtained his MBA from the University of Rochester and rose to the position of Vice President of Product Delivery and Introduction.

Bob loved baseball and the New York Yankees. He loved jazz, played the sax and loved Dave Letterman but most he loved his alma mater (RPI) and its varsity hockey team. Bob is survived by his sister, Nancy (Larry) Adlhock of Fairport: his brother, Richard (Susan) Lipowicz of Dayton, OH; nieces and nephews, Jessica Marks, Samantha Marks, Ann Lipowicz Deleone, Paige Lipowicz Schuckmann, Ted Lipowicz and Drew Lipowicz; cousin, Lee Weaver of St. Augustine, FL.
