I met Jerry in 1953 when he was an Aquinas student. He and his buddies started hanging out at the (Sugar) “Bowl” where we Marshall people hung out. We all got along very well and we were life time friends even though the times I ran into him were not too many. He always gave me a free Skippy Ice Cream whenever I had my car washed as his place was right next door on Lake Ave across the street from Kodak Park.
He was a talented football player on the Aquinas team and the coach would check between the football players fore finger and middle finger for nicotine stains. Jerry had the perfect solution. He held his cigarettes between the ring finger and his pinky. Sly guy that Jesmer.
The world was a better place because of him. God Bless, Jer.
