Haich, Roger D.

Fairport: Passed away on January 23, 2016 from Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 83. He was born May 31, 1932 in Evanston, IL. and grew up in Phelps, NY. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna (Smith); daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Miller of Fairport and daughters, Amy (David) Stone and Tara Rieke of Carmel, CA; from previous marriage; grandchildren, Carson, Riley and Piper Miller of Fairport, Katie Monroe and Sam Stone of CA., Jamey Foster of Michigan, Beatrice Foster of CA, Leah (Adam) Elbridge of Phelps and Emily Foster of Macedon; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Roger served In the US Navy for 6 years during the Korean War and was active in the Masonic Organizations for nearly 40 years. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from RIT in 2006 at the age of 74. He loved his family, tinkering, being on the water, popcorn and ice cream. He was unfailingly kind, hardworking and had a corny sense of humor. He left a mark on all who knew him.

Calling hours Wednesday 4-7PM at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport (Egypt Location), where a Service will take place Thursday at 11AM. Spring Burial in Oak Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Monroe Community Hospital.

    Thank you for the condolences at this difficult time. I was not able to go see my family at this time and I was especially missing my grandfather today.
