Groet, Frances Kathleen

Pittsford: September 8, 1915 to August 3, 2012. Our wonderful mother was a lifelong resident of the Rochester area.

She will be greatly missed by her four daughters and extended family. She was intelligent, witty, quiet and always caring. She was a lifelong bridge player and proudly earned her Life Masters. She always had a book by her side, as well as one of her beloved dogs, who walked her through life. She had a passion for antiques, drying flowers and watching the birds around her.

Her husband, Nicholas Groet, preceded her our mother in death. She is survived by the four of us- Gail Perti (Gill), Elizabeth McGarity (Mike), Suzanne Groet (Michael Watson), and MArtha Groet (Steven Zayac). There are five grandchildren who have spread their wings around the country: Amy, Erica, Shannon, Casey, and Asher, as well as four great-grandchildren- Ryan, Cameron, Casey, and Sydney. Sadly two grandchildren left her and all of us before she died- Nick Petri and Kyle McGarity, who also loved their grandmother. Her wonderful friend, daily visitor and loving companion, Karen Davis, never missed a day of being there for our mother as she had promised.

Please celebrate our mother’s life with a donation to the Lollypop Farm Humane Society of Greater Rochester or to the charity of your choice. We thank you for your love and support.
