Fairport: Passed peacefully in her sleep on July 24, 2016 at the age of 94. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years Michael and her three sisters Gladys, Angie and Josephine. She is survived by “her 5 boys”: Greg (Vicki) of Minneapolis, MN, Mark of Fairport, NY, Mike Jr. (Wanda) of Moline, Illinois, Gerry (Annette) of Fairport, NY, Tim (Leslie) of Fairport, NY, as well as fifteen wonderful grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Marie graduated from New York Mills High School in 1940 and served stateside during the war effort. She dedicated the 1950’s and 60’s to being a loving stay-at- home Mom for “her men” before returning to the workforce as a civil servant for the IRS, NY State and Onondaga County, until retirement in 1984. In retirement she and Michael traveled the world, loved to garden, square dance, play Skip-Bo and relax at Madison Lake. She was an active parishioner at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fayetteville, NY, as well as a member of the Polish Heritage Club of Syracuse.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Please consider a donation in memory of Marie to Catholic Relief Services or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Interment will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Whitesboro, NY.

  2. To the Family of Mrs. Gacioch: My heartfelt condolences to you. When we lose someone so precious, no one knows how you feel, only that we may understand. May your cherished memories, and the wonderful promises of Our Creator (Revelation 21:4,5; Isaiah 33:24), strengthen and comfort you, through another very difficult time of loss.
