Finnegan, Geraldine Kistner

Rochester: Died peacefully surrounded by family on August 13, one day after her 96th birthday. She was predeceased by her husbands, Lawrence Kistner and Frank Finnegan, and son-in-law, William Alvut. Survived by her sister, Marie Jabaut McGrath and her 3 children, Sue Clifford Alvut, Stephen Kistner (Ginny) and Martha O’Neil (Pat); 2 nieces and a nephew; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gerry graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh and taught 35 years in the Plattsburgh School District. She enjoyed retirement in both Plattsburgh and Florida. She was a world wide traveler, an avid gardener, a whiz at NYT crossword puzzles and a master in the art of knitting.

Gerry’s family is grateful for the compassionate care she received from the staff of Cherry Ridge and the Lindsay Unit of the Friendly Home over the past 7 years. A Memorial Service will be held in Plattsburgh, NY.
