Fairport: June 5, 2017.

Born in Sodus, eldest son of Abram & Dorothy, and brother to John who predeceased him in 1989.

David was raised in a faith based home and found strength in God. He was active at many churches including the Church of the Good Shepherd, Church of the Assumption, and Eastside Church, participating in various activities including choir, fundraisers, parish council, and Just Faith. He lived his faith, quietly doing good deeds, never seeking recognition. He lived by the Golden Rule and thus made friends readily wherever he went.

David attended the Rochester Business Institute as well as the University of Rochester.

David served his country in the United States Army as part of the 693rd Signal Corps from 1962 through 1967.
David fell in love and married MaryJane Mills in 1964, their love endured the test of time, through 45 years of marriage. He devotedly cared for her through her illness and passing in 2009.

He was employed for thirty nine years by Allstate Insurance Company, retired briefly and then went on to twenty years at Enterprise Rental.
David loved spending time with his five grandchildren (Ryan, Connor, Caleb, Chloe, and Curtis), whether enjoying a ball game, weekend breakfasts, or cheering them on in their sporting & musical endeavors. He always made time for, and treasured, family gatherings. David enjoyed traveling, taking frequent bus trips, and making many special memories with his companion Nancy.

Our beloved Dad was carried home by angels on Monday morning, and welcomed at the gates of heaven by Mom.

I have known Dave a long time. He is my sister’s father-in-law. Very kind to me. I met him for the first time while caring for his brother John at St. Mary’s hospital in Rochester a long time ago. I saw the last name and asked if they were related to m sister’s boyfriend. I was amazed he was his dad!! Too funny! We laughed about that.
