Brewster, Patricia

Rochester: October 31, 1934 – May 9, 2015. A long-time resident of the Rochester area, Pat died at the Fairport Baptist Homes on Friday the 8th of May. She lived on Long Island, Hornell, and Rochester, NY.

Pat is survived by John, her loving husband of 57 years, of Fairport, NY: and her seven children: Anne Walters of Sherburne, NY; James (and MaryAnn) Brewster of Bridgeport, CT; David Brewster of Paw Paw, WV; Mary Brewster of West Chester, PA; Marion (and Ed) Swanson of Williamsburg, VA; Stephen (and Tracey) Brewster of Henrietta, NY: Paul (and Erin) Brewster of Fulton, NY. In addition, Pat is survived by eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by one grandson, Jason Walters.

Her gift was living in the moment and being present to those around her. Her intelligence and reflective nature provoked sincere and thoughtful conversations. During her illness her faith brought forth an incredible sense of peace.

Precious times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Pat and John shared a marriage of deep devotion and love for almost 58 years and continue to inspire their children and grandchildren.

She led workshops on marriage and spirituality and she wrote many articles in a variety of magazines and books. Pat was devoted to God, her family, friends, and social justice. Prayer, travel, reading, writing, and listening to music gave her joy. Pat had her Master’s Degree in Theological Studies.
