Fairport: Peacefully surrounded by his family at age 92.

 

 

Predeceased by his sons, Michael and Donald Bell; son-in-law, Mike Kukuvka; brothers, Bill, Don and Jim Bell. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 70+ years, Shirley; children, Dave (Joy), Doug, Beth Kukuvka and Amy (Rick) Willey; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Vernon served honorably in the Navy during WWII on the USS Vicksburg (CL-86).

Family will receive friends Saturday 9 AM at St. John of Rochester Church (Fairport) with a Mass to follow at 10 AM. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery immediately following Mass. Donations in his memory may be made to the Greyhound Adoption of Greater Rochester, PO Box 63, Penfield, NY 14526-0063.

    I love you Grandpa! You are greatly missed already. I’m so glad I was able to see you and laugh with you one last time. Thank you for being a great example of love and strength to your kids and giving me one of the greatest dads I could ask for! He is who he is because of your example! You will always be my favorite grandpa 😉

    Mr. Bell did a ton of work at my deceased parents home ( Al & Audrey Knapp) on Lake Road in Webster. I remember him from when I still was living at home. My Dad just Loved his demeanor. He was great person. I will always remember him for how well he treated my folks. Gods speed Mr. Bell. Peter Knapp, Brighton NY
